What you can expect when you visit us?

We are excited that you are thinking of visiting us. We want to be as helpful as we can, and to make your experience a good one.

Here are a few things people wonder about.
 

Before Service

Sunday School: On Sundays, Eastern offers several classes in which you are welcome to take part. They start at 9:45am. 

For more information, please ask one of our greeters or ushers.
 

Dress Code: Some people like to dress up; some people like to wear something casual.  Come the way that you feel most comfortable. God is more concerned that you are seeking Him than about what you have on.

Child Care: Eastern has several supervised programs for children of all ages to attend during service. We have a great kids church with fun messages and activities. Your children will also find great friendships that can last a lifetime.  For more information on where to take your children, please ask one of our greeters or ushers.

Worship: This time is set aside for communicating with God from our hearts.  We have a live contemporary worship team that plays music designed to to take us into God's presence. Everyone worships in his or her own unique way – for many, this means singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words.  You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
 
Offering: Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings.  As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give.  This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives.  Weekly tithes and offerings also help us spread the word of Jesus Christ all over the world and support our many ministries.
 
The Message: (sermon) Every week, you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture, not opinion. Most people find that it fills them up and makes them think. Our sermons are designed to be helpful in your everyday life.  We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.

Communion: Once a month, we celebrate communion together. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ.  The juice and bread that we share represent the life Jesus sacrificed so that our sins could be forgiven.

After Service

Visit the lobby: As a guest, you'll be asked to fill out a Connection Card during the service. Everyone fills out a card, which is located in the black binders where you are seated. Please stop by the Information Center following the message and pick up a free gift. Our lobby also is the place where you can view and sign up for any of our fun events and to learn more about our ministries, which you can join.
